So @193countries has a new book out - 100 Side Hustles - and came through BookPeople last night for his Austin stop. . I remember when Chris launched his first book - The Art of Nonconformity - and I went to his meetup in Chicago at Rockit Bar & Grill in Wrigleyville. I had started to pull myself out of the doldrums of getting laid off the seasonal work at UPS and I told him that I was gonna “start this impossible blog thing.” . He was relatively encouraging (I think I scared him a little bit with my over-exuberance), and he graciously took a photo with me and told me to "go for it". . Good call. . To say that Chris has been one of the biggest influences on the *trajectory* of my life is an understatement. I would have never started writing, thought about starting a business or traveled to 47 countries and counting. Hell, I remember reading that Chris had a goal to run a marathon every year or at least run 2, half-marathons every year and I thought that was insane. . Incredibly thankful for the work + the writing that Chris has done over the years, and the quote he used early-on still echos with me: . “You don’t have to live your life the way other people expect you to.” . If you need a kick in the butt to go do something (plus 100 good ideas that you could start), go get a copy of his book. It’s not intimidating. It’s not impossible. It’s incredibly practical way to do something different and take control of your life in a small, actionable way. . “Go For It” . Swipe 👉🏼 for photos over the years (Chicago, Indianapolis, San Diego). . . . #chrisguilebeau #100dollarstartup #sidehustleschool #sidehustle #entrepreneurship #throwback #tbt #100sidehustles #aonc #artofnonconformity #boompeople #authors #goforit
